Local SEO across Teesside, one town at a time
Local SEO is everything that decides whether you show up when someone nearby searches for what you do. On Teesside that means Stockton-on-Tees, Redcar, Billingham, Thornaby, Guisborough, Yarm, Saltburn and Hartlepool, and Google treats each one as its own search. There are three places that matter:
- The Google Maps top 3: the map box above the results, which gets most of the calls. Your Google Business Profile and your reviews decide who’s in it.
- Google search: the normal results for “[what you do] [your town]”. If you’re on page 2, most people never see you.
- AI answers: more people ask ChatGPT or read Google’s AI Overview for a recommendation. They can only name you if they can read clear facts about you.

What I keep finding on Teesside
Between 12 and 24 October 2026 I checked 42 Teesside businesses with 4.7 stars or more on Google, each searched from its own town the way a customer would. 25 of them weren’t in the Google Maps top 5 for their own search, and 15 weren’t even in the top 10. Eight of those had 50 reviews or more.
The reasons repeat from Redcar to Billingham: a Google profile with the wrong category or old hours, a Website button that opens Facebook, and nothing anywhere that says plainly what they do and which towns they cover. All of that can be fixed.
What’s included in the Search Fix: get found in 5 days
For Teesside businesses with a website, or just a Facebook page, that customers can’t find. In 5 days I:
- Set up or fix your Google Business Profile: the right category, hours, photos, services, service areas and description.
- Add you to Bing Places, Apple Maps and the UK directories that matter for your type of business, like Yell, FreeIndex or Checkatrade.
- Make your name, address, phone and hours match everywhere, so Google and AI tools trust them.
- Give you a written fix list for your website, with before-and-after screenshots.
If I can’t find at least 5 things holding your business back, you get your money back.
Grow: keep climbing every month
Rankings aren’t a one-off. Every month on Grow I post to your Google profile 4 times, send you a review link and QR card to keep new reviews coming, add a new answer to your website, and send you a one-page report: Google clicks, Maps views and what ChatGPT says about you, searched from your own town. You can cancel any time. Weighing up the cost? See is it worth paying for SEO?
What I won’t promise
Nobody can honestly guarantee a #1 spot on Google, and anyone who does is guessing. What I can promise is that every fix makes you easier to find, and that you’ll see exactly where you stand every month. Google Maps positions usually move first; normal search results often take a few months.

How long does local SEO take to work?
Fixes to your Google Business Profile and listings can move your Google Maps position within weeks. Climbing the normal search results usually takes a few months, because Google builds trust over time. That’s why Grow is monthly, and why you get a report showing exactly what’s moved.
I cover several Teesside towns. How do I show up in all of them?
Your Google profile can list the towns you serve, and your website should name them plainly. The map mostly shows businesses close to the person searching, so you’ll usually show up best near your base. I check each town you care about separately, so you know where you stand in every one.
Do I need a website for local SEO?
You can improve your Google Maps position with your Google profile alone. But Google and AI tools like ChatGPT rank and recommend businesses they can read clear facts about, and a simple website gives them that. If you only have Facebook or Instagram, a website is usually the biggest single fix.
How do I get into the Google Maps top 3?
Google looks at three things: how relevant your profile is to the search, how close you are to the person searching, and how well known and trusted you are. You can’t change your location, but a complete profile, steady new reviews and the same details everywhere improve the other two.
How much does local SEO cost on Teesside?
With me, the Search Fix is £149 one-off and sorts your Google profile, listings and website basics in 5 days. Grow is £99 a month after that, with Google posts, new reviews, a new answer on your site and a monthly report. There’s no contract, and it all starts with a free Found Check.
