Oakpress Studio Not showing on Google
Why isn’t my business showing on Google?
Usually it’s a missing or miscategorised Google profile, a Facebook-only presence, or a website that never says what you do and where. A free Found Check shows which, and the Search Fix sorts it in 5 days for £149.

Why isn’t my business showing on Google?
Almost always it’s one of a few things. These are the ones I find most often when I check Teesside businesses:
- No Google Business Profile, or the wrong category. Without a profile you can’t appear in the Google Maps box at all. A barber listed as a “hair salon”, or an electrician listed as an “engineer”, gets shown for the wrong searches.
- Only a Facebook page. Google shows websites and Google profiles for “[what you do] Middlesbrough”. Facebook pages rarely make page 1 (see do I need a website?), and the reviews on them don’t count on Google.
- Your website never says what you do and where. If the words “barber” and “Stockton” aren’t on the page in plain text, Google has to guess.
- Your website is telling Google to stay away. One setting (a “noindex” tag, or a robots.txt file blocking everything) hides a whole site. I found it on a business’s online shop just this month.
- Different details in different places. An old phone number on Yell, a different address on Facebook: Google trusts businesses less when their details don’t match.
- It’s brand new. A new website can take a few days to a few weeks to appear, and longer to climb.
How to tell which one it is
Two quick searches tell you a lot. Search your business name and town: if no profile shows on the right (or at the top on a phone), Google doesn’t have one for you. Then search site:yourwebsite.co.uk: if nothing comes back, Google hasn’t got your website on file at all.
Or let me do it. The free Found Check searches from your own town, the way your customers do, and shows where you come up on Google, on the map and in ChatGPT, plus the 3 things I’d fix first. You get it within 1 working day.
I fix it in 5 days for £149
The Search Fix is for businesses that customers can’t find. In 5 days I:
- Set up or fix your Google Business Profile: the right category, hours, photos, services and description.
- Remove anything on your website that’s hiding it from Google, and tell Google the site is there through Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
- Make your name, address, phone and hours match everywhere.
- Give you a written fix list for your website, with before-and-after screenshots.
If I can’t find at least 5 things holding you back, you get your money back. No website yet? See what a website costs or web design in Middlesbrough. Wondering whether SEO is worth paying for at all? Here’s my honest answer.
How long until I show up?
Honestly: fixes to your Google profile and listings can move you on the map within weeks. Climbing the normal search results takes months, because Google builds trust slowly. Nobody can promise you first place, and anyone who does is guessing. What I promise is that you’ll see where you stand, searched from your own town, before and after.

Why is my business not showing on Google Maps?
Usually because there’s no Google Business Profile, it isn’t verified yet, or it has the wrong category for what people search. Google also weighs how close the searcher is and how many reviews you have. Fixing the profile and getting steady new reviews are the biggest things you control.
Why is my website not showing up on Google?
The most common reasons are that the site is brand new, a setting is telling Google not to index it, or the pages never say what you do and which town you’re in. Searching site: followed by your web address shows whether Google has your site on file at all.
How long does it take to show up on Google?
A new website can appear within a few days to a few weeks once Google knows about it. Moving up the map can take weeks after your profile is fixed, while climbing the normal results usually takes several months. You’ll see the movement in a monthly report.
Can I pay Google to rank higher?
You can pay for adverts, which show as “Sponsored”, but you can’t pay Google for a better normal or map position. Those come from a complete, accurate profile, a clear website and good reviews, which is exactly what the Search Fix works on.
Do you only work with Middlesbrough businesses?
No. I’m from Eston and check businesses all over Teesside, including Stockton, Redcar, Guisborough, Billingham and Hartlepool, and across the UK. Every Found Check is searched from your own town, because Google shows different results depending on where you are.
