Oakpress Studio Recent work By.EmWebster
A website for a bridal makeup artist in Stockton-on-Tees.
Emily had a 5.0 rating from 79 Google reviews and a diary filling up through Instagram, but no website. Brides who searched for a makeup artist near them found her Facebook page, an old business name and opening hours that said she was closed every weekday. So I built her a site that shows her real work, answers every question a bride asks before booking, and sends the enquiry straight to her.

Her brides, not stock photos

Every photo on the site is Emily's own work, in full quality from her phone. The look is classic and editorial, like the wedding magazines her brides save to Pinterest: script over serif capitals, arches, warm mocha and cream taken from her own logo. The opening frame draws open like a curtain and the words arrive one by one.
Eyes open, then tap to see the eye makeup

Emily always posts her work as a pair: eyes open, then eyes closed so you can see the shadow. So the portfolio works the same way. Each look starts with eyes open, and a tap on a phone (or hovering on a computer) closes them. Brides can see exactly what "soft glam" or "bronze tones" means on a real face.
Weddings and occasions kept apart

A bride and someone booking prom makeup need different information, so they get separate price lists. The wedding side shows the trial, the bride, the bridal party, the minimum booking spend in bold and every extra (travel, early starts, Sundays), so there are no surprises later. Her booking policy and 13 questions are written in her own words, and the enquiry form asks exactly what Emily needs to quote: the date, the ceremony time, how many people and where they're getting ready.
Fixing how Google sees her
A website on its own wasn't the whole problem. Her Google listing also needed sorting:
- A new description in her words, with the towns she covers and what she does.
- Ten service areas across Teesside and the North East, instead of just "United Kingdom".
- Six services with their prices, so Google can show them on her listing.
- Opening hours that no longer say she's closed on weekdays, as she works by appointment.
- Her old business name tracked down in old directory listings, with corrections sent.
That Google work is what I now sell as the Search Fix (£149); a website on its own covers the website. The website itself is built to be found: each service named the way brides search for it, with the town, in plain text Google and AI tools can read, and the business details, prices and questions marked up so search engines understand them.
